WASHINGTON TALKING BOOK & BRAILLE LIBRARY

The Washington Talking Book and Braille Library is part of the Seattle Public Libraries. The project consists of an extensive renovation of an existing 1947 concrete building. Interior remodel creates 40,000 SF of new offices, conference rooms, broadcasting center, and includes the installation of a $300,000 shelving system. Exterior improvements establish a new entry with accessible grades, completely new roof membrane and new paint at all facades. As facility serves the blind and visually impaired, the program focused on providing universal accessibility.
