SAINT EDWARD SEMINARY
Located in the center of St. Edward State Park, the historic Seminary Building had been vacant for over 25 years. The Northshore School District asked us to assist them in preparing a proposal to place this dramatic 80,000 SF building back into useful service. We worked with Northshore to analyze district needs, define the best programmatic uses for the building, establish costs and to identify development opportunities and constraints. Two options for the reuse of this historic structure were developed. The first option proposed an arts and technology school combined with a public conference center. The second option proposed a conference and teacher training facility combined with housing for Northshore district teaching faculty. We also coordinated a team of engineers and building envelope specialists to prepare a scope of work and estimate for the stabilization and rehabilitation of the building.
