As part of the expansion of higher education services into the growing north Seattle suburbs, the State of Washington asked JOAP to recommend a suitable 90-acre site for a new co-located community college with a UW Branch Campus. From 23 candidate sites, JOAP identified three potentially viable sites and vetted them through a rigorous community outreach program and providing preliminary planning, environmental and access analysis and conceptual design for each site. We were also charged with the preliminary discussions with local governmental agencies regarding site viability, capacity and support. Ultimately, the preferred site in Bothell, WA was acquired, and it is now the home of Cascadia Community College and UW Bothell Branch Campus.
