YWCA BELLINGHAM
The YWCA’s building was designed by Carl F. Gould in 1909 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Following building assessment, systems analysis, programming and master planning services, we were asked to design a complete renovation including: elevator and new accessible entry, new exterior stair, to comply with current code, upgrade of all mechanical, electrical, and data systems, new terraced and accessible entry to therapy pool facility at basement, reconfigure three floors and 36 units of transitional housing with new common kitchen and bath areas, add new conference and office facilities. Johnson Oaklief Architecture and Planning was the principal architect working in collaboration with Ernst and DelBoca of Bellingham, WA.
